Product information is based on published manufacturer specifications, not hands-on testing.

Start with the ball used at your venue

Ask your club or instructor for the exact manufacturer and model. A covered court is not necessarily a reason to choose an indoor ball; the surface and venue’s rules matter. Using the same model as your group also makes it easier to compare how it plays.

An indoor example: Franklin X-26

Franklin describes the X-26 as an indoor model with 26 holes. Read the intended-use label on the product page. A number in a product name does not necessarily have the same meaning across different brands.

An outdoor example: Franklin X-40

Franklin’s X-40 is an outdoor model with 40 holes. These examples explain manufacturer categories; they are not the result of our own play test. Bounce, durability and wind behaviour depend on conditions, so distinguish manufacturer claims from your experience at the court.

Check the colour and how many you are buying

The USA Pickleball equipment list includes indoor, outdoor and combined-use categories. A tournament may specify a particular ball even when other models are approved. Check visibility against your court and background, and compare pack sizes as well as prices.

Try a small quantity first

Check a ball for damage before use and follow storage guidance from the manufacturer. Start with a small pack rather than stocking up on an unfamiliar model. Ask regular players at the venue which model and colour are used for the sessions you plan to attend.
